P-GHS boys basketball overwhelms Vanlue

The Pandora-Gilboa High School boys basketball team got back on the winning track Friday evening Jan. 13 and remained unbeaten in the Blanchard Valley Conference. The Rockets jumped ahead early and never looked back, overwhelming the Vanlue Wildcats by a final of 78-31.

After one quarter, P-G had a slim 14-10 lead. The second quarter was the back breaker for the Wildcats. The Rockets exploded for 32 points, taking a 46-20 lead into halftime.

Funeral arrangements for Cheryl S. Martin of Ottawa

Cheryl S. Martin, 76, of Ottawa passed away January 13, 2023 at Putnam Heritage Assisted Living in Ottawa. 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. 

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted with Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

BHS girls basketball loss to Vikings

Playing at home, the Bluffton High School girls basketball team gave league-leading Leipsic all it could handle before losing 51-49 in a Northwest Conference battle Thursday evening.

Bluffton fell to 9-5 overall and 1-3 in the NWC with their first home loss in eight games. The Viking girls improved to 14-1 and 5-0 in the NWC to stay a half-game ahead of 4-0 Delphos Jefferson atop the league standings.

"Be Rad with Dad" Daddy Daughter Dance

Bluffton Family Recreation will be holding a Daddy Daughter Dance this February 25 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

The '80s-themed dance, called “Be Rad with Dad,” will include “music, pictures, neon and games.” Photographs will be taken by Picture Me This Photography, LLC and Xtrasound will be providing DJ services.

Tickets for BFR members are $20 and non-members are $40, with dads/grownups included in the fee.
