University arts calendar for November

The following Bluffton University events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

Nov. 1 Art Show: Bluffton University’s Ohio Ceramic Invitational, until Dec. 11, Grace Albrecht Gallery in Sauder Visual Arts Center

Nov. 1 Forum: “Name in Print,” First Tuesday Forum presentation by Payton Stephens, Bluffton communication and media major, 11 a.m., Musselman Library Reading Room

Nov. 1 Forum: “The Road to No Home: From Ukrainian Citizen to Refugee,” Forum presentation by Lana Mosser, Findlay resident and native of Ukraine, 11 a.m., Yoder Recital Hall

The Bluffton High School boys soccer team shut out Riverdale 1-0 Wednesday evening, October 26, in the Div. III district semifinals. UPDATE: Both boys and girls district finals will be played in Bluffton on Saturday, Oct. 29. Details to follow. PHOTO by Jamie Nygaard.

BHS boys soccer blanks Falcons, advances to district finals

The Bluffton High School boys soccer team shut out Riverdale 1-0 Wednesday evening, October 26, in the Div. III district semifinals at Tiffin's Frost-Kalnow Stadium.

The Pirate record improved to 10-6-2 after the win that advanced them to the district finals. 

The sixth-seeded Falcons end their season 7-9-2 following the loss.

The match was scoreless in the first half.

Celebration of Life for Chris Faine

Chris W. Faine, 67, of Columbus and formerly of Mt. Cory passed away October 25, 2022 at the Whetstone Rehabilitation Center in Columbus. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Private burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Winning tickets for October Discovery Day

The following winning numbers have been announced by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce for the October 22 Discovery Day prize drawing:

First Prize – 739775

Second Prize – 608651

Third Prize – 608380

Ticket holders can pick up their Bluffton Bucks prizes at the Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St. through November 30.

Bluffton baseball players on Putnam championship team

Three players from the Bluffton High School baseball team were a part of the league championship winning team in the Putnam County Fall Baseball League. The championship game was held last Saturday, Oct. 15.
