Herman D. Ring obituary

Herman D. Ring, 86, of Pandora, died on October 3 at Bridge Hospice in Findlay surrounded by his family following a courageous five-and-a-half year battle with cancer.

He was born on November 16, 1935 in Stockport, Ohio, the son of Herman and Eva (Ball) Ring. On September 21, 1958, he married his childhood sweetheart, the former Nina Murphy, and they were married for 50½ years. She passed away in 2009.

BHS volleyball sweeps Patriots

The Bluffton High School volleyball team got back on the winning track by sweeping visiting Patrick Henry in a non-conference match Monday evening, October 3.

The decisive 25-13, 25-10, 25-14 win upped the overall Bluffton record to 11-7 this season. The victory snapped a three-match losing skid.

The Patriots dropped to 6-9 with the defeat.

Bluffton was led in kills by Ayla Grandey, who knocked down 11 and served a pair of aces.

Kendall Stackhouse hit five kills, while Morgan Fruchey compiled four kills and 10 digs.

BHS boys soccer: 4-1 victory at Lincolnview, ice NWC top spot

BHS hosts Ottawa Hills on Thursday, October 6

The visiting Bluffton High School boys soccer team won 4-1 at Lincolnview behind the offensive exploits of Justin Good Monday evening, October 3.

The W also iced the Pirates' top spot in the Northwest Conference league. The streaking Pirates improved to 8-4-1 overall and 4-0 in the NWC with their seventh straight win, and 38th consecutive league victory.

The Lancers dropped to 5-6-2 overall and 1-1-1 in NWC play with the defeat.
