Feast your eyes on this cover crop

Growing on a field near you (and Cairo, Ohio), a multi-species cover crop blend planted after wheat. The white flowers are buckwheat; there is also Sorgum Sudan grass, cow peas, annual rye grass, cereal rye grass, radish, and balansa clover in the mix. Farmer Matt Burkholder notes, "This cover crop mix is an absolute buffet for earthworms and other soil life. I plan to plant corn next spring into this cover crop mix."

The first Village of Bluffton regular council meeting of the fall began with a lengthy presentation from a representative of Toledo-based Palmer Energy Company, which negotiates large-scale energy aggregation deals.
