Hardin County Astronomy Club hosts viewing event for James Webb Space Telescope

The Hardin County Astronomy Club is hosting a "First Light" viewing event on Tuesday, July 12 to celebrate that day’s unveiling of the first images captured by the James Webb Space Telescope.

The event begins at 5:00 p.m. in the Veterans Meeting Hall at the courthouse in Kenton, and all are welcome to attend.

Vacation plans in order?

That question asked by two earlier generations of Bluffton residents quite possibly meant a railroad trip, beginning and ending in Bluffton.

Bluffton leads WOAL swim meet after Day 1 in Wapak

The Bluffton Sardines summer swim team is in first place out of eight teams after the first day of the 40th annual Western Ohio Aquatic League championship meet at the Wapakoneta Community Pool on Friday, July 8.

Bluffton leads the overall combined team standings, followed by meet host Wapak. 

Over 500 swimmers on eight teams are competing in the two-day event.

Swimming resumes Saturday morning at Wapakoneta with the second and final day of competition.

Results are attached with Bluffton relay teams and individuals highlighted in green.

Tesla–Wizard at War

What hasn't been written about Nikola Tesla in the past century? Books and documentaries abound around the genius of the inventor, and even Marc J. Seifer, the writer of this non-fiction tome had published a previous book in 1999, Wizard: The Life and Times of Nikola Tesla. But this book, Wizard at War (Kensington Publishing Corp. ISBN  978-8065-4096-2) to be released at the end of August 2022, takes on a narrower subject, as it chronicles the inventions that interested the military of more than one country.

Tune into Dreamjacket at Bluffton Town Hall

The July 23 Bluffton Town Hall concert will welcome Jesse W. Johnson of the band Dreamjacket (Chicago). From the organizers,"Jesse has been a mainstay in the Chicago indie, rock, folk music scene for over a decade. He has a huge catalogue of biting original songs that are as timeless as they are uniquel.  He has been described as 'The Jayhawks writing the score for a David Lynch Movie.'"

B - F - R - ! Day campers at Bluffton Family Recreation took a break during their snack break to spell out where they were for the Icon. Our vantage point was the Mercy Health Fitness Studio above the indoor turf arena.
