David C. Peckham was a student at Cory-Rawson Middle School

David C. Peckham, 13, passed away July 10, 2022, at his residence. 

David was born July 4, 2009 in Troy, OH, to Mark and Bina Peckham who survive. 

David attended Cory-Rawson Middle School where he dedicated countless hours to wrestling, football, and baseball. He loved to cook, participate in crafts, and play video games. Above all, he was a caring and considerate boy who loved to help other people. He dearly loved his family and friends.

Summary of July 11 Regular Council Meeting

2023 budget approved, new firefighter hired, public events approved

The July 11 regular meeting of the Village of Bluffton Council had quorum with council members Joe Sehlhorst and Phill Talavinia absent.

Following the approval of minutes from two prior meetings and bill payments, Mayor Richard Johnson asked for committee reports. (Packet with minutes and supporting materials.)

Riley Creek Arbor hosts pool parties on July 15 and 16

Riley Creek Arbor is sponsoring free pool admission for the first 125 people at the Bluffton Community Pool on:

  • Friday, July 15, 2022 from 12 – 8 p.m.**
     
  • Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 1 – 6 p.m.

Be sure to sign up that day at the pool for a drawing for a FREE beach towel. Three will be given away with the drawing to be held Monday, July 18 and winners will be announced on the Riley Creek Arbor Facebook page or contacted soon after.

Furry friends join storytime

Therapy dogs Max (pictured here) and Sophie joined participants of the Monday night storytime at Bluffton Public Library to hear Miss Sharlene read the book Madeline Finn and the Therapy Dog.

BFR is calling all ninjas

Bluffton Family Recreaion, 215 Snider Rd., has issued this invitation to summer day camp:

Calling all ninjas! Come train with us for a week building and master ninja obstacle courses and testing your ninja skills!

Campers have lunch provided Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from Bluffton Hospital.

Campers will spend some time in the afternoons at the pool for no additional cost!

Youth soccer supporters invited to help mark fields

Supporters of youth soccer in Bluffton are invited to help make the fall soccer season happen: Bluffton Soccer Club relies on volunteers to help set up fields. Only one hour of your time is needed to sign up.

FIELD SET UP DAYS

  • Saturday, August 6 from  9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
     
  • Thursday August 11 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
