Tune into Dreamjacket at Bluffton Town Hall

The July 23 Bluffton Town Hall concert will welcome Jesse W. Johnson of the band Dreamjacket (Chicago). From the organizers,"Jesse has been a mainstay in the Chicago indie, rock, folk music scene for over a decade. He has a huge catalogue of biting original songs that are as timeless as they are uniquel.  He has been described as 'The Jayhawks writing the score for a David Lynch Movie.'"

B - F - R - ! Day campers at Bluffton Family Recreation took a break during their snack break to spell out where they were for the Icon. Our vantage point was the Mercy Health Fitness Studio above the indoor turf arena.

Foodie Tuesday will include '60s Survivors Band

Foodie Tuesday will be held at the Centre at Bluffton (601 N. Main Street Bluffton) from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday July 12.

The event includes local food trucks and cold beverages inside the Centre with live entertainment from the '60s Survivors Band.

Beaverdam Bunch: 4-H judging reminder

Club reminder: Be sure to sign up and attend your judging dates for special interest and livestock projects. The next meeting will be held July 11 at Bluffton Middle School at 7:00 p.m.

Bluffton University named a 2022-23 College of Distinction

Bluffton University has been recognized for excelling in the areas of student engagement, teaching, community and successful outcomes by Colleges of Distinction, a guide for college-bound students. Recognitions include being named a 2022-23 College of Distinction, Ohio College of Distinction and Christian College of Distinction. Bluffton’s business and education departments have also been recognized as leading programs of distinction.

Man enters guilty plea in Medina; charged in pursuit that killed Bluffton officer

MEDINA, Ohio—On Wednesday, July 6 a change of plea was filed for Dante D. Tate in Medina County Common Pleas Court; he has pleaded guilty to charges of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer and receiving stolen property.

Tate was taken into custody in Elyria on March 31 after Officer Dominic Francis was struck and killed at Bluffton while attempting to deploy stop sticks on I-75.

Tate is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 8.
