Alzheimer's Association presents "Maintain your brain" Nov. 23 at Maple Crest

Maintain Your Brain!
To help baby boomers and all Americans live a brain-healthy lifestyle and potentially reduce their risk for Alzheimer's disease, the Alzheimer's Association is offering a "Maintain Your Brain" program on Tuesday, Nov. 23, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Maple Crest Senior Living Village, Patio Room (700 Maple Crest Court).

Winebrenner Theological Seminary president keynote speaker at Ebenezer Missions Festival

The 47th Annual Missions Festival at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton, will feature Dr. David E. Draper as speaker for both Sundays.

The conference will be held Nov. 14 through Nov. 21. Dr. Draper is president of Winebrenner Theological Seminary, Findlay. He is an ordained pastor with the Eastern Regional Conference of the Churches of God and served as pastor of Mt. Pleasant Church of God (Ohio) and Pleasantville Church of God (Maryland).

Letter: Township trustees will not permit us to continue our business

We are writing to inform the residents of Richland Township who have home businesses BEWARE! We own and operate a roll off and recycling business in a zoned business district in Richland Township.

The township trustees will not permit us to continue our business because we are violating the Zoning Regulations and state that we cannot operate in a business district. The zoning text that we have in this township does not state that we can or cannot operate our business.

Walkers welcome at Bluffton Schools

The Bluffton Schools will once again welcome any citizen interested in walking the hallways during the winter months.

The Bluffton Elementary and Middle Schools may be used for walking from 6:15-7:15 a.m. and 6-7 p.m., beginning Nov. 8.

Please enter at the main elementary door during these times. The buildings are open each day when school is in session.

It was the final home football game of the season...senior night...so the BHS marching band tradition of seniors wearing a hat...any hat...goes on. Katlyn Bates donned a Mickey Mouse hat for the occasion. This photo is during the halftime performance.

Popcorn-eating contest during Shirley's customer appreciate day Saturday

Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn, South Main Street, Bluffton, will hold its annual customer appreciation day on Saturday, Nov. 6, according to Pete and Kim Suter.

The event includes $1 hot dogs all day long. Customers may purchase $10 or more at Shirley's and get a free $5 gift card. Door prizes given away all day long.

Free giveaways are available with every purchase. A popcorn-eating contest will take place at 10:30 a.m. Entrants must be 18 or older. The winner will receive free popcorn for an entire year.
