Allen County placed on Level 2 emergency snow level

Allen County was placed under a Level 2 snow emergency this morning.

LEVEL 2 - ROADWAY WARNING: All roadways in Allen County are extremely dangerous due to heavy, drifted or blowing snow. Some roads may become impassable causing danger to stranded drivers and occupants.

Only motorists with extreme necessity and specialized equipment should attempt to drive in these unsafe conditions. In the interest of public safety, motorists are strongly advised to stay off roadways until conditions improve.

With The Icon's winter weather warning level at "partly screwed," we'd like to poll the viewers of a couple subjects.

The paulpoteet.com site is a weather site pointed out to us by Lindsay Steiner in Kent. She forwarded the map. We asked for permission to use it and received the okay.

In case you are wondering, it is possible to use a small push snow blower on this stuff. Our's is called a snow "thrower." We tried it at 7 a.m. this morning. It worked, sort of. Blew out the driveway. It took three passes; usually needs one swipe.
