I almost forgot to mention wallabys and kangaroos

Well, my daughter and I have been in Melbourne for a week and are preparing to leave for Sydney tomorrow. So here are a few more southern Australia impressions to send your way.

When I wrote my first impressions of Melbourne a week ago, I had not yet been introduced to the countryside - only the city. And, although the city has been good to us (they really treat their tourists well), this "country girl" was ready to see something other than tall buildings and trollies.

Bluffton Hospital reaches $1 million capital campaign goal

Bluffton Hospital has reached its $1 million capital campaign goal to support the renovation and expansion of the emergency and surgery departments.

Isabelle West, a longtime resident of Bluffton, pledged the lead gift to the Bluffton Hospital expansion project during the leadership phase of the campaign launched in 2009. The $1 million fundraising target was met last week.

Homecoming drivers

Two library book discussions set for October

Bluffton Public Library will host a discussion of Terry Ryan's book The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio at Common Grounds Coffeehouse & Caf'e on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 10 a.m.

Senior BHS royalty

Seniors on the 2010 Bluffton High School homecoming court are from left, Christian Koch, Evania Bonifaz, David Yoder, Shannon McKamey, Emily Buroker and Dustin Brinkman. The 2010 homecoming king and queen will be announced during a pre-game ceremony on Friday at Harmon Field.
