Village of Bluffton alert: April 2 severe weather, flood warning

UPDATED 3:25 P.M. 

A flood warning has been issued for Allen County and this afternoon College Ave. has been closed at Riley Creek. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Detailed river forecasts and additional information can be found at www.weather.gov/iwx under Rivers and Lakes.

March 25 Bluffton Council: BPD awards 2023 Citizens of the Year honors to three residents

The March 25 regular meeting of the Bluffton Council presented a gallery full of people including Boy Scouts from Troop 256, an admittedly unusual condition for these meetings. The Scouts were introduced to the Village Councilors and to the staff in attendance.

Bluffton University professors discuss BUILD grant on April 5

Dr. Cherie Hocanson and Jordan Hamilton, assistant professors of education at Bluffton University, will present the Colloquium, “BUILD (Bluffton University Improving Literacy Development) and the Science of Reading: An Overview of the Five Components of Effective Literacy,” at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 5 in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall.

Up to a half-million people could flow into the solar eclipse path that will cross Ohio  on April 8. The potential increase of visitors to Ohio’s rural areas raises unique safety and legal  concerns for farmers and farmland owners.
