Noon book group meets to discuss Steinhauer's All the Old Knives

On Wednesday, September 6 at noon, the Bluffton Public Library will host the next meeting of the Noon Book Group.

Participants will be discussing All The Old Knives, A Novel by Olen Steinhauer, who is the New York Times bestselling author of The Cairo Affair.

Corle-Agner and Gratz: Live music in the Roots alley

UPDATE: This event takes place from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Nancy Corle-Agner and Phil Gratz (PHOTO) will be playing in the alley next to Roots by Strattons on Wednesday, August 30.

The duo will "weave an adventurous thread of decades-spanning acoustic takes on tunes fun, tragic and mystic." The event includes food by Greenhorn. Bring a lawn chair and a friend to enjoy music in the alley.

Pirate girls tennis sweeps Fostoria

The Bluffton High School girls tennis team shut out visiting Fostoria 5-0 Monday evening, August 28.

The Pirates improved to 3-4 with the convincing victory.  

Bluffton won four of the five matches in straight sets.

Bluffton girls soccer blanks Bearcats

The Bluffton High School girls soccer team pulled away late and shut out visiting Spencerville 3-0 in their Northwest Conference opener Monday night at Steinmetz Field.

The Pirate girls improved to 1-1-1 overall and 1-0 in NWC play as they began defense of their league title with a win. The scrappy Bearcat girls dropped to 0-3 and 0-2 in league play with the loss.

Pirate boys soccer edges Bearcats in NWC opener

Bluffton hosts Ottoville Saturday, September 2 at 11:45 a.m.

The Bluffton HIgh School boys soccer team began defense of its Northwest Conference title with a tense 1-0 league-opening win at Spencerville Monday evening.

The Pirates improved to 2-2-1 overall and 1-0 in NWC play with the win. Bluffton remains undefeated all-time in league play. 

The defensive match was scoreless for the first half and most of the second half. Pirate Chase Kelly netted the first and only goal in the 72nd minute on an assist from Theo Andreas.
