Church celebrates 175 Years, provides anecdote from the 1940s

After World War II, there was a scramble to call pastors. Bluffton Presbyterian had not had a pastor during the war and they wanted to call Ernest Bigelow who was graduating from Yale Divinity School.

The Bluffton Lions are counting traffic on the village's bike and pedestrian pathways during the period of September 9-28. Don't be suprised if you see individuals postitioned along routes shown on the map above. Designated pathways, routes and lanes are highlighted in yellow and in green on the Google map.

Mornings with Mommy hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church

Trinity Lutheran Church of Jenera has announced that their educational play-dates will begin on September 16 and 17 and continue on the first and third Monday and Tuesday of each month from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church, 301 North Main Street.

A second session is held on Mondays from 11:00-12:00 (each of the three sessions are the same.) 

Advance registration is required online at tlcjenera.org or by calling 262-391-7994. The cost is $5 per family (not per child) per session. Payment may be by cash or check. If a session is full, there is a waiting list.

Drop-in activities at Bluffton Public Library

The following activities will be held at Bluffton Public Library on a drop-in basis during the month of September 2024:

Chill Zone is on Monday afternoons after school at 3:30 p.m. Chill Zone is a safe space for tweens and teens to hang out at the library. Anyone in grades 6-12 is welcome to join. Activities include gaming, socializing, themed events, and crafting. Snacks are provided. 

Lee named new CFO at First National Bank

PANDORA — First National Bank has announced that Derrick Lee is its new Chief Financial Officer. Lee will oversee all financial operations, including financial planning and analysis, risk management and strategic financial initiatives. He will work closely with the executive team to develop and implement strategies that support the bank’s long-term objectives and enhance its financial performance.

Sepsis is a public health crisis unfamiliar to many people, even though 1.7 million are diagnosed every year, and sepsis is the number one cause of death in U.S. hospitals. Sepsis is the body’s overwhelming response to infection. It leads to over 350,000 adult deaths and almost 7,000 pediatric deaths annually. Sepsis is the number one cost of hospitalization and skilled nursing care at an estimated $62 billion annually.
