$1.8 million Stutzman estate gift presented to Bluffton University

Gift announced at State of the University Forum

Jane Wood, president of Bluffton University, and Robin Bowlus, vice president of advancement and enrollment management, recently accepted a $1.4 million gift from the estate of John and Erma Stutzman, which was presented by representatives from Everence Financial.

Pirate girls tennis sweeps Defiance Ayersville

The Bluffton High School girls tennis team won its fourth consecutive match with a 5-0 sweep of Defiance Ayersville Monday evening, September 25.

The Pirate netters improved to 7-6 with their fourth victory in the last eight days.

Bluffton won all 10 sets in the lopsided match.

MEADVILLE, Pa. - The Bluffton University women's golf team opened the Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Memorial Invitational with a 326 on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023. Bluffton's 326 for 18 holes tied the Beavers for 2nd all-time. The Beavers stand 4th after round one. FULL STORY at BlufftonBeavers.com

Pirate boys soccer win at Ada

The visiting Bluffton High School boys soccer team staved off upset-minded Ada 3-2 in a Northwest Conference battle on Monday, September 25, at War Memorial Stadium.

Bluffton improved to 4-5-2 overall and 3-0 in NWC action with the win. The eight-time defending league champion Pirates remain unbeaten all-time in league play at 41-0-0.

What Pirates are wearing for Homecoming spirit week

Monday? Jersey Day.... Tuesday? Wild West.... Wednesday? Disney Day.... Thursday? Picture Perfect.... Friday? Arrrr. It's Pirate Day. Wear your best school spirit and school colors.

Also on Friday: Homecoming parade at 5:30 p.m., then cheer on the Pirates football team when they take on Crestview.

Watercolors and Words & Wine invitations

In order to hold the repeat Watercolor Workshop on Thursday, September 28, the Bluffton Public Library needs 5 more people to register by Wednesday.

WORDS & WINE
The Bluffton Public Library invites adults (ages 21+) to the Words & Wine Book Discussion on Thursday, October 12. Enjoy a glass of wine and discuss The Secret Book of Flora Lea by Patti Callahan Henry.

The event will start at 6:30 p.m. at Greenhorn, 112 Vine St. with refreshments available for purchase.

There is limited seating, so please register (and pick up the book) at the Bluffton Library as soon as possible.
