Overdose reversal drug to be provided at Ohio rest areas

COLUMBUS—On Sept. 21, Governor Mike DeWine announced a partnership among the RecoveryOhio initiative, the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Ohio Department of Health’s Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided With Naloxone) to install lifesaving Naloxone kits at rest areas across the state.

Finding your way around the 2023 Bluffton Fall Festival

There are ten stops on the Bluffton Fall Festival online map, provided HERE. Most events take place between 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. but you'll also find early birds at the Bluffton Farmers Market and Bluffton Cars & Coffee events, as well a night owls at Greehorn's live music with Phil Gratz and Nacy Corle-Agner. Does Bluffton ooze ghosts? You can soon find out.

Just in time for Halloween, Where Bluffton’s Ghosts Sleep, the latest book by author--and Icon founder--Fred Steiner, will be available at a book signing from 10 :00-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, 132 N. Main St.

Subtitled “Unexpected stories from a small Ohio town,” the 196-page book includes what Steiner says is “every unexpected and cryptic Bluffton epic ever imagined.”

Homecoming season increases law enforcement presence on roads

Homecoming season is a cherished tradition bringing together high school students, families and alumni to celebrate school spirit and unity. The Lima/Allen County Safe Community Coalition reminds citizens that while these festivities are eagerly anticipated, they also come with concerns about driving safety, particularly in the context of post-game and dance celebrations and gatherings, much of it being done by youthful drivers.

Scarecrow decorating contest guidelines

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce encourages businesses to decorate the downtown area with a fall/scarecrow theme. Here are the guidelines:

These decorations would either be attached to the lamp posts along Main Street or storefront window decorations, but the overall requirement is that they be three-dimensional.
