ODOT construction projects for the week of September 18

ODOT District 1 has announced that the following construction projects are anticipated to affect area highways during the week of September 18. All outlined work is weather permitting.

State Route 12 just east of State Route 115 (near Vaughnsville) will close on Monday, Sept. 11, for approximately 11 days for a culvert installation project. Detour: SR 115 to U.S. 30 to SR 65, back to SR 12 (see map).

Ann Meiring joins Citizens Wealth Management Group

Citizens Wealth Management Group (CWMG) has welcomed Ann Meiring, financial advisor, to its team.

Meiring will be working in the CNB Lima office, located at 201 N. Main Street. Chad King, Lima Market President states, “We’re excited to partner with Ann to provide financial planning services directly from the Lima office. Her understanding of the Lima community and local experience as a financial advisor are a welcome addition to our team.”

Pirate football hammers Bearcats, stays unbeaten

The Bluffton High School football team lambasted Spencerville 56-0 in a Northwest Conference road contest Friday night, September 15, to stay undefeated.

The Pirates raced to a 35-0 halftime lead and cruised to victory. 

Landen Worcester rushed for three touchdowns and 171 yards to pace the potent Pirate ground game, which compiled 414 yards.

LCC to join NWC, Fort Laramie football decision pending

The Northwest Conference and its member schools have announced that Lima Central Catholic High School has accepted an invitation to become a member of the conference in all sports beginning with the 2024-25 school year. Member schools met Wednesday and voted unanimously to extend an invitation to Lima Central Catholic.

This will give the conference 8 full-time members with the pending departures of Ada and Leipsic in 2024-25.
