Swiss Community Historical Society celebrates 50th June 26-27

In celebration of its 50th anniversary, The Swiss Community Historical Society of Bluffton and Pandora will hold two public events on the last weekend of June.

Saturday, June 26, there will be an open house at the society's newly restored 1843 Swiss Homestead, northwest of Bluffton at 8350 Bixel Road, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Wine and food pairing event at The Inn at ONU June 22

On Tuesday, June 22, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., The Inn at Ohio Northern University, Ada, will host a wine tasting and food pairing event featuring Ravenhurst Champagne Cellars. This will be held outside at the Inn's garden courtyard.

Ravenhurst Champagne Cellars are award-winning wine makers seriously dedicated to traditional method champenoise champagne and handcrafted wines. Guests will enjoy an evening of fine wine and gourmet food in a relaxed and beautiful setting. The evening's menu includes:

This covered bridge invites you

The Benroth Bridge invites you to walk across it. Don't worry. There are no trolls underneath. The bridge, named in memory of Eugene and Evelyn Benroth was refurbished this spring. This is the 10th year that the bridge has stood, crossing the Marsh Run at the Buckeye.

First National Bank promotes Young Entrepreneurs Program with "Lemonade Stand" day on June 26

Remember your first lemonade stand?

Several lemonade stands may pop up in Bluffton on Saturday, June 26, thanks to First National Bank's Young Entrepreneurs Program "The Lemonade Stand."

In recent years, First National Bank has been actively involved in financial education for youth in area schools, according to Brendon Matthews, vice president commercial lender of First National Bank. "Recently we developed a program called the Young Entrepreneurs," he said.

BFR offers several summer programs for all ages

BFR Tball

Summer Tee Ball registration is still open at BFR. Boys who will be ages 5 or 6 and girls who will be ages 5, 6 or 7 by June 1 are welcome to register.
BFR Tee Ball will be held at the Bluffton village park on Tuesday and
Thursday nights beginning July 6 and continuing to Aug. 5. Cost per
child is $30 ($15 BFR member) and includes a team t-shirt.
