1-30-10 East College Avenue pipes

CAN'T WAIT UNTIL SPRING

These large pipes, stored at the village recycling center, are headed for East College Avenue as soon as spring arrives. The pipes will resolve the flooding problem in the Jared Circle and Ethan Circle neighborhoods.

Just a quick note from Louisville...I just LOVE your website and check it out quite often! Nancy Yeager told me about it soon after you were up and running. What a great way for so many of us former Blufftonites to keep in touch with Bluffton! I really appreciate what you and your staff are doing.

Re: the historical picture of the Methodist Episcopal Church Choir...I am wondering if the signature on the back belonged to Harl "Choppy" Mann who was married to Pearl Bogart Mann.

February worship schedule at MMH released

February's worship service schedule at the Mennonite Memorial Home for February was recently announced. All services are in the Home's chapel. The schedule follows:

Sunday services at 9:30 a.m

Feb. 7 - Bill Herr

Feb. 14 - Duane Bollenbacher

Feb. 28 - Bill Herr

Tuesday evening services at 6:30 p.m.

Barbara Plaugher tells about Haiti trip Feb. 8; flu clinic Feb. 2 at Sr. Center

Barbara Plaugher will speak to the Bluffton Senior Citizens about her recent trip to Haiti and the earthquake she and her group experienced, according to Tonya Meyer, director.

Her talk will be at noon, Monday, Feb. 8, during the Center's monthly potluck. Hostesses for the meal are Ruth Bartels and friends. Basil Meyer is the master of ceremonies.

Two members who become 90 will be presented with a life membership at the potluck. They are Leland Lehman and Harley Childs.

Greg's Pharmacy offers free osteoporosis and blood pressure checks Feb. 13

An osteoporosis screening and blood pressure checks is planned from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, at Greg's Pharmacy, Bluffton.

The free service is provided by Ohio Northern Univeristy's National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) student chapter.

"Bone density scans provided by pharmacy interns will help determine if you are at risk for osteoporosis," said Greg Conkling, of the Bluffton pharmacy.

James K. Warren 1938-2010

James K. Warren

James K. Warren, 71, Bluffton, died at 2:08 a.m., Jan. 30, 2010, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born July 12, 1938, in Orange Township, Hancock County, to Clyde and Eulalia McCormick Warren. On June 3, 1960, he married Jeanette James and she survives.

Mr. Warren was a life-long farmer and former auctioneer. He was a member of the Bluffton Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. He also served on boards of the Blanchard Valley Farmers Cooperative and the Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation District.
