It doesn't seem that long ago. It was June, 1988. You are looking at the last Greyhound bus to stop in Bluffton. This bus, a Lima-bound Greyhound did not pick up any passengers in Bluffton on that final zip through town.

Sign-up deadline July 17 for Friends garage sale

Friends of the Bluffton Public Library remind persons interested in being on the Friends' garage sale map need to sign-up by Saturday, July 17. Persons interested in details should contact the library.

Pandora resident receives Navy promotion

Operations Specialist Seaman Aaron D. Cox of the U.S. Navy, was appointed Third Class Petty Officer by his commanding officer on board USS Harpers Ferry on June 4.

Cox has served abroad in Japan for over 18 months and has been in the navy for 2 1/2 years. He is a 2004 graduate of Pandora-Gilboa High School. His father is Dean Cox of Lima and his mother is Gloria Cox of Pandora.

Water-sewer bid opening moves to July 23

A bid opening scheduled for July 8 for the proposed water and sewer projects on South Main and North Dixie Highway has been moved to July 22 at 11 a.m.

According to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator, 11 sets of plans have been requested for the project. He added that the project end date was extended to allow for any possible delay in the project start due to the annexation process.

4 ordinances on July 12 council agenda

Four ordinances are on the July 12 Bluffton council agenda. They include:

Ordinance 17, 3rd reading, adopting the Ohio Building Codes and establishing a Village of Bluffton Building Department.

Ordinance 18, 3rd reading, requesting the Ohio Board of Building Standards to certify the village for enforcement of the Ohio Building Codes with the condition that the Wood County Building Inspecting Department exercise enforcement authority.
