Anna Mary Naas 1916-2010

Former Bluffton resident Anna Mary Naas, died on Thursday, July 1, 2010 in Olympia, Wash.^A Anna Mary was born April 17, 1916, in Cridersville, Ohio to Harry and Luella Rehm Burgess.^A She was a member of the first families of Allen County.^A Anna Mary married Wilson Naas Feb. 8, 1941, and he died in November 1984.

Real July fireworks

A vehicle struck a utility pole on Grove Road just outside the village limits around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 3. Fire, police and AEP officials were called to the scene. Note the shortened utility pole on the south side of Grove Road.

Look who were winners in the National Kiddie Tractor Pull

The results of the National Kiddie Tractor Pull at Hometown Amerifest on June 26 were:

3 & 4 Year Olds - pulling 120 pounds

1st place - Cole Bower 4 years old from Bluffton with a pull of 21 feet 3 inches
2nd place - Gavin Bogart - 4 years old from Bluffton with a pull of 21 feet 1 inch

3rd place - Carson Kruse - 3 years old from Bluffton with a pull of 20 feet 11 inches

5 & 6 Year Olds - pulling 160 pounds

Recognized for extraordinary service

Swiss Historical Society celebrates 50th

Swiss Day, held on Sunday, June 27, this year celebrated both the 50th anniversary of the Bluffton-Pandora Swiss Community Historical Society and the completion of restoration work on its historic Schumacher House at the Swiss Homestead on Bixel Road.
