PHOTO Recipe for feathered friends

In this bitter cold, Icon founder Fred Steiner is attracting nuthatches and other birds with his homemade suet, a combination of Crisco, Jif Crunchy peanut butter, peanuts, wild bird seed, cornmeal, oatmeal, wheat flour and whatever seeds he has on hand. Fred notes, "If you could handle Crisco and Jif (not me) anyone could eat this."

PHOTO STORY Cory-Rawson STEM camp

Many of the Cory-Rawson fourth and fifth grade students spent their Martin Luther King, Jr. Day at STEM camp. 

Preservice teachers from Bowling Green State University worked alongside Cory-Rawson staff to host the event that included a day of challenges related to mathematics, science, and engineering.

January 9 field reports from Ohio Division of Wildlife Officers

Northwest Ohio – Wildlife District Two 
In August 2023, State Wildlife Officer Ethan Bingham, assigned to Williams County, patrolled Lake La Su An Wildlife Area. Officer Bingham contacted two individuals who were on the area past the 10:00 p.m. curfew and were in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. The items were seized as evidence and the individuals were issued summonses for the violations. Each individual paid $474 in fines and court costs.

Dwain R. Augsburger Sr. served in the U.S. Army

Dwain R. Augsburger Sr., 88, passed away January 12, 2024 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. Dwain was born April 30, 1935 in Findlay to the late Gale and Helen (Parkins) Augsburger. On January 24, 1959 he married Lanelle Manahan Augsburger who preceded him in death on November 3, 2013.
