The community is invited to a community picnic provided by Bluffton Presbyterian Church, 112 N Main St., on Sunday, September 19 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
The outdoor event will take place on the church lawn. A picnic meal of hotdog or shredded chicken sandwich, chips, veggies, cookie and bottle of water will be available, while supplies last.
The Faithline monthly gathering of youth for dinner, a message and Christian fellowship is for students in grades 6-12 from all churches and denominations. Speakers “share their hearts and their love of the Lord and worship leaders share their music ministries.”
Gatherings are Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at 116 Church St, Bluffton.
Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 8375 Phillips Rd, rural Bluffton, will observe the 160th anniversary of its affiliation with what is now the United Church of Christ on Sunday, Sept. 12.
Commemorating the occasion with its annual Rally Day at the church, the congregation will dedicate 160 (or more) school kits to Church World Services, which supplies kits to areas of need throughout the world. For example, in the United States there currently are several disaster areas where school kits may be needed.
This summer's Bluffton Community Vacation Bible School is hosted by St. Mary's Catholic Church, 160 N. Spring St, and it takes place Sunday, July 18, through Thursday, July 22.
