Jacob and Eli Lehman of Bluffton were winners in the Allen County Junior Fair. Their awards follow:

-Grade A market lamb
Eli Lehman:
-1st place senior Satin rabbit buck, 2nd place overall Satin rabbit buck
-3rd place overall Satin rabbit doe, 4th place overall Satin rabbit
-3rd place overall Netherland Dwarf doe
-3rd in class market lamb
-7th place market lamb rate of gain

A Main Street "event in the alley" takes place today (Wednesday, Sept. 9) from 5 to 7 p.m.
Open to the public, with masks required, it takes place in the Main Street alley between Roots, 111 S. Main St., and Edward Jones, 107 S. Main St.,
Sponsored by Roots by Strattons, other businesses participating include The Food Store and Greenhouse, Twisted Whisk Cafe and Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn.
The event includes entertainment by folk singer Dave Woodring, who will perform music of Johnny Cash, Ray Charles and others.

The Bluffton University women enjoyed their first competition since hosting the Heartland Conference championships at the Bluffton Golf Club on Oct. 13, 2019.
After a nearly 11-month sabbatical, the Beavers put together a 378 at the Legacy Golf Club on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Junior Brylee Oberdorf (Green Springs/Clyde) led the way with an 88 which tied her for 7th out of 41 golfers on Tuesday. Her 88 gives Oberdorf three of the top four 18-hole scores in school history.

Loren D. Core, 75, of Duffield, Virginia, died Sept. 8, 2020. He was the son of G. Richard and Vera Gratz Core whom preceded him in death. He was born Oct. 18, 1945.
Survivors include children, Travis Core of Portland, Oregon, and daughter Amy Ludwig of Arizona City, Arizona, Brian of California, Darran of Washington state, Byron of Snowflake, Arizona, six grandchildren and one great-grand child. Also surviving is a very special friend, Janice Murphy

COLUMBUS GROVE - The Bluffton cross country teams competed at the annual 45-team, three-division Columbus Grove Invitational last Saturday.
The Pirate boys harriers took 11th in the 15-team gray division boys standings with 297 points. Columbus Grove won the boys title with 60 points, followed by Tinora (78) and Anna (82).
Senior Elijah Conley was the top Pirate runner as he finished 38th, one spot and three seconds ahead of sophomore teammate Sam Derstine.
