Due to the weather conditions Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, will close at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18.

St. John's United Church of Christ's cantata scheduled for Sunday morning, Dec. 18, has been cancelled due to the weather.

Other services planned, however will take place. Those involve:

•  a  candlelight Christmas Eve service of carol singing, reading of the Christmas story and Holy Communion.  The service takes place on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 4 p.m., and is open to everyone. 

Bluffton Lions were entertained by the Glandorf Men’s a capella chorus during its Christmas party. Several Lion events are planned in January. Those are listed on the club newsletter, which is an attachment below.

Elisha Birkey met Santa Claus for the first time ever on Monday night at the Bluffton Public Llibrary. He's held by his dad, Phil, while mom, Esther, talks him in to giving a Christmas grin.

No report yet on a run on milk and bread in local stores, but the day is still young

Winter is on the way. Here's a weather update for Friday night, Dec. 16, from various weather internet sites:

For northwestern Ohio snow is in the forecast tonight and mixed with or changing to sleet and freezing rain. Anticipated 1 to 3 inches of snow with minor ice. Periods of snow tonight will change to a wintry mix overnight.

Low temperature anticipated at 20 degrees, with winds from the south southeast at 10 to 20 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.

 

On Saturday Christmas adopt-a-family deliveries take place

Junior and senior members of the Bluffton High School student senate helped stock food pantry shelves earlier this week.
