The Ohio State University at Lima in conjunction with Rhodes State College will host an Eclipse Science Series leading up to the total solar eclipse that will take place on April 8. The speakers will dig into different aspects of the phenomenon during the series of science-based lectures and presentations.

The Eclipse Science Series events will be held on four Thursdays in January, February and March and is generously supported by the Charles River Laboratories. All events are free and open to the public.

Alice Basinger sworn in as newest board member

The Bluffton Exempted Village School District board of education held a reorganizational meeting on Wednesday, January 10. New board member Alice Basinger was sworn in along with Jeremy Scoles, who was reelected in November elections.

Meet the December 2023 Bluffton Middle School Pirates of the Month, L-R) Toby Clevidence, Avery Boehm, Bracyn Oglesbee, Evelyn Boyles, Bentley Angel and Emery Thiel. These students are being honored for their exemplary demonstration of the Pirate Pact with includes Pride, Initiative, Readiness, Attitude, Tolerance, Excellence & Strength.

FINDLAY,__Applications are being accepted for the 2024 Agri-Business scholarship program through the Findlay-Hancock County Chamber of Commerce.  Scholarships will be awarded to area students pursuing college studies in agriculture, home economics, natural resources, or other related fields. 

ON January 9, 2024, at approximately 12:41 p.m. the Allen County Sheriff’s Office received several 911 calls in regard to an on-going robbery at the Lima Mall.
