FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Bluffton University baseball team fell in both games of a double dip on Thursday, Mar. 5 to the St John’s Johnnies. The Johnnies won game one, 10-0, and they scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth to win game number two, 14-13. The Beavers dropped to 3-4 on the year, while St John’s improved to 5-3.
Plans are underway for the first-ever Ride to Remember bicycle ride this summer in Bluffton.
The Saturday, July 11, event offers short bike routes for families interested in biking together all the way to a 100-mile route for experienced riders.
Based at BFR Sports and Fitness and the Buckeye lake area of Bluffton, the event serves as a springboard to a make Bluffton a bicycle destination and bike center for enthusiasts of the sport.
Details are still in the planning stages, but sponsors hope to offer routes of 15, 31, 62 and 100 miles on July 11.

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - The Bluffton University softball team went to extra innings against the Olivet Comets and lost a heartbreaker. The Beavers slipped to 7-2 when Olivet scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth for a victory in the Comets season opener.
On March 4 the Icon posted the team photo of the Bluffton seventh grade boys' basketball team. That team won the Northwest Conference basketball title.
Here's chapter two: It's the same story with the Bluffton eighth grade girls' team, who finished the season 15-1 and a 3-0 tournament record. (This team has back-to-back trophies in the trophy case.)
This means, somewhere between the next season and 2019-20 basketball seasons these girls will become household names in Bluffton.
