During March eight Bluffton and Pandora congregations will partner with Samaritan House and Crossroads Crisis Center in Lima, through the “Supply Our Sisters,” (SOS) program, according to Amy Mikesell.

SOS is a month-long collection of feminine hygiene products (pads and tampons of various types) and the churches are collection points.

“Women make up 32 percent of the homeless population. Feminine hygiene products are essential, but are rarely donated to homeless shelters and women’s resource centers,” said Mikesell.

Margie Sue Steinman, 73, died at 11:58 a.m. Feb. 17, 2015, at the Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. She was born Nov. 2, 1941, in Bluffton to the late J. Adrian and Marceil Hilty Eck.  She was married to Jerry Steinman, and they were divorced and he preceded her in death.

She had been a receptionist at Hancock Family Services. She was a member of the Pandora United Methodist Church and a member of Parents Without Partners. She was a graduate of Pandora-Gilboa High School and attended Bluffton College. 

Bluffton Pediatrics, 505 E. Jefferson St., Suite A., Bluffton, will hold an open house from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 22, according to Beth Bish, CNP.

Bluffton Pediatrics opened Jan. 5, and Beth A. Bish, CNP, pediatric nurse pracitioner, is co-owner along with her husband, Jim Bish, RN. It is now accepting new patients.

Other staff members are Kat Hunnaman, RN., clinical director; Christine Clymer, executive director; and Barb Hammell, patient liason.

All are invited to attend First Mennonite Church's Ash Wednesday service at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18. The service opens FMC's Lenten series of "Upside Down and Inside Out," with imposition of ashes, prayers around the cross, music, and scripture.

Pastors Steven Yoder and Gloria Hernandez Bucher will lead the service, with Lucia Unrau as pianist.

First Mennonite is located at 101 S. Jackson St., Bluffton.

February's chamber breakfast attendees were entertained with an accordion and guitar performance. Elaine Wehri performed on accordion and Art Schnipke on guitar. RealLiving CCR Realtors sponsored the breakfast. Elaine is a realtor with the local firm.
