NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - Manchester University used a 17-5 run to begin the second half to propel the Spartans to a 64-55 victory over the Bluffton women on Wednesday, Feb. 4. The Bluffton loss was a key one in the HCAC standings, as the Beavers slipped to 8-5 and fourth place in the conference. They are 13-7 overall. Manchester improved to 10-10 and 7-6 in the HCAC which ties them for fifth.

A Red Cross blood drive will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5 at First Mennonite Church, 101 S. Jackson St., Bluffton.

The Mission, Peace and Service Commission of First Mennonite helps to organize a Red Cross blood drive twice each year.

Pandora United Methodist Church will hold a free community meal from 5:30-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25 in the church fellowship hall. The meal this month is provided by Mission Committee of Pandora UMC. The menu will be chicken sandwich, baked beans, cole slaw, dessert and beverage.

The church is located at 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora.

Who will it be?

The Bluffton Lions Club seeks nominees for the 2014 citizen of the year.

The award was established in 1981. It honors a person, couple or someone representing a group who has selflessly given time, effort and talent for the benefit of those in the Bluffton area and whose dedication and achievements have profoundly improved the quality of life of the people of the area.

The nominee may be living or deceased (within the last year). The winner will be honored at a banquet on Tuesday, April 21.
