Mennonite Memorial Home's annual concert on the lawn is at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 17. The concert features Bob Ford who will perform familiar folk tunes to classics by Burl Ives, Tommy Maken and the Kingston Trio.
The concert also features ice cream. Icon viewers are invited to bring a comfortable lawn chair and enjoy the event, which is open to the public.
Jessica Grandey was offered a position with the Bluffton schools as assistant treasurer. The Bluffton school board approved offering Grandey the contract during a special meeting on July 26.
The contract is for two years with an annual salary of $39,000 for fiscal year 2015, with an exception for days not worked prior to commencement date of Aug. 6, 2014.
On behalf of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, we would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Ralf, the employees and co-workers at Grob, members of the Bluffton community, and to all those impacted by this tragedy.
We had the opportunity to host Ralf at a recent chamber meeting and he left a lasting impression with all in attendance. It was obvious he was passionate about Grob and all the exciting projects happening at Grob.
July's Bluffton chamber cash mob is today from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Spectrum Salon, 422 N. Main St. Several discounts are offered. In addition all who attend can register for a $25 shopping spree. Two businesses across the street from Spectrum, will also have special offers. Thoses businesses are Panasche and Polished by Joan.
