Joining the president were Kelbessa Muleta Demena (left), assistant to the executive secretary of MKC and chair of its board of trustees, and Carl Hansen, the Harrisonburg, Va.-based director of college advancement for MKC.

The visitors spent time at The Lion and Lamb Peace Arts Center on campus and later at First Mennonite Church in Bluffton.

DTR Industries, celebrating a quarter century in Bluffton in 2013, the , is the focus of the Friday morning, May 10, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast.

The breakfast program will be presented by DTR and it will focus on several of its accomplishments over the past 25 years. Jason Brandt and Emily Peck, DTR associates, will make the presentation.

Buried in the straw are hundreds and hundreds of plants waiting for June. Here's a look at the strawberry rows at the corner of Pandora Road and Bixel Road. Maybe this time next month, we'll see you  out there.

It includes reports from building principals and the 2013-14 school calendar, in addition to several other bits of information about the school district.

It’s difficult to know which the residents and contestants at Richland Manor’s pie baking contest enjoyed more – making their pies, or tasting them, as bakers and tasters alike lined up to sample the entries at the campus’ Pie Baking Contest recently.

Prior to the contest, Richland Manor residents Ruth Wildermuth and Michele Cardone made a homemade crust for the Caramel Chocolate Apple Crunch Pie they were entering in the contest on behalf of the residents Cooking Club.

Mustard Seed Cafe, 562 N. Main St., Bluffton, has a Mother's Day special on Sunday, May 12. All mothers will receive a packet of mustard seeds to plant. The cafe will also offer its regular menu between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

In addition, a special holiday dinner is available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests may eat indoors or out (weather permitting), and reservations are suggested all day.
