If you like political drama, you're in luck. It seems like just yesterday the news was filled with references to the fiscal cliff. Now, coming to theaters everywhere, is "sequestration." Look for more political confrontation to unfold as sequestration gets under way.
Bluffton's Relay for Life will hold a "quarter auction," at the Blufffton Middle School cafetorium on Friday, March 15, according to Lynda Best. The event is from 6 to 9 p.m.
The auction includes:

• Thirty-One
• Celebrating Home
• Pink Zebra and
• Tastefully Simple, who will each have items on display and will donate items for the auction.

It was a buzz-a-thon for a good cause. On Feb. 27, about 40 Bluffton University baseball players and coaches, with the help of haircutters from The Curling Iron, went bald to show they care.
Having already raised more than $6,100 since December for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation—which funds research for potential childhood cancer cures—the Bluffton baseball Beavers took their support a step further on Wednesday, having their heads shaved in solidarity with young cancer victims.

Bluffton University freshman Brooke Ruffer (Stryker) was recently named Second Team All-Heartland Conference for the 2012-13 women’s basketball season.
The HCAC women’s basketball coaches selected six players for the first team and six players for the second team. In addition, Ruffer was one of five ladies selected to the All-Freshman Team.
Carolyn (Kerry) Vore Dickey, 84, formerly of Bluffton, died Feb. 24, 2013, in Prior Lake, Minn.
Preceded in death by her parents, Roger Miller (d. 1995) and Ida Panabaker (d. 1987) Vore, and one brother, Robert Vore (d. 1998).
Mrs. Dickey was born in Lima, Oct. 31, 1928. She graduated from Lafayette Jackson High School in 1946 and Bluffton College in 1950. She taught kindergarten at Allen-East from 1968-1988.
