On Saturday May 12, letter carriers in Bluffton and Beaverdam
will participate in the Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
The nationwide food drive is the largest one day food collection in the
country filling food pantries and food banks. It is easy to help and
participate. Just collect and bag non-perishable food items or paper
products and place by your mailbox or bring them to the Post Office.
Please do not include expired items or items in glass containers.
It was a pretty good day for fishing. Just ask Robbert Tidd of Ada, or Elmer Noble of Lima, or Wyatt Matter of Bluffton, or Jeff Huff of McComb.
Turns out "Old Augie," named after Bluffton Sportsmen's Club president, Tom Augsburger, tagged trout number one, was snagged by Tidd. The Ada fisherman took home $1,157.50.
Huff of McComb won the 50-50 drawing and also took home $1,157.50. Noble didn't win cash, but took home bragging rights for catching the longest trout. It measured 20 1/2 inches.

With the summer fast approaching, the Bluffton Family Recreation hosts a t-ball league starting in July for youth ages 5-7 to join and have fun with other youths their own age.
"We have a class right now, just the kids learning how to play t-ball before this summer, which is a league this summer where they play games and have scrimmages," said Maranda Miller of BFR.
The Bluffton University class of 2012 sat together for one final time. Bluffton's 112th annual commencement took place May 6 at Dwight Salzman Stadium. Karel B. Oxley, superintendent of Lima City Schools, gave the commencement address.
Bluffton's annual family-oriented spring arts and crafts show is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 12, in downtown Bluffton. The 41st annual show, sponsored by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, offers several family-oriented activities.
Over 60 craft and business booth displays will line Main Street Bluffton from the post office to the town hall. Craft displays range from jewelry, yard art, paintings, sand art for kids, antiques, plants and rugs.
