The Bluffton Icon welcomes six new advertisers this month. The Icon now has 27 local businesses advertising their products and services.

"We are grateful for the support of viewers and advertisers," said Fred and Mary Steiner of The Icon.

Those advertisers recently joining The Icon include Jeanne's Kitchen on Vine Street. You'll notice the restaurant's menu listed on the classified-display ad page.

Also new is Jeff Laing's Born Again, LLC, general contractor business.

Connie has agreed to come to Bluffton and we are hosting her at an event at the Bluffton Town Hall on Thursday, October 21 at 7:00 pm.

Hassan Mosoka - Bluffton University's first international graduate student

Story and photo by Sarah Britsch

As Bluffton University's first international graduate student, Hassan Mosoka (Ha-san Mo-SO-ka) brings a whole new world to this American culture, a world where community is so prominent that birthdays are not celebrated individually, a world where mothers call their children by one name and their fathers by another, and a world where favorites are a foreign concept.

The replacement bridge spanning Riley Creek at Spring Street is beginning to take shape. The bridge spans were put in place on Friday. Cross beams are being placed next. If you look closely, the new bridge has an interesting resemblance to the older one.
