December full of holiday events at Bluffton Public Library
Bluffton Public Library patrons will enjoy holiday music performed by local musicians, free refreshments, a visit from Santa Claus and other special holiday programs during December.
Holiday music
Holiday music performances include Jim Boedicker on Monday, Dec. 5, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.; Oscar Velasquez on Saturday, Dec. 10, from noon to 1 p.m.; and the Dulcimer Gatherin' on Monday, Dec. 12, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Free refreshments will be provided during these special events, courtesy of the Friends of the Bluffton Public Library.
Visit from Santa
Santa will be at the library Saturday, Dec. 10, from 11 a.m. to noon. Parents are invited to bring their children to hear Santa read a story and decorate their own holiday cookie. Cameras are welcome.
Christmas films
Special Christmas film screenings will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, and Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 3:15 p.m. The whole family may attend and may also bring blankets, pillows and a beverage if desired. Popcorn will be provided. No registration is required for the film screenings. Please call the library for more information on the films.
Elf School
For children who are especially excited about celebrating Christmas, the library Teen Advisory Group will be hosting Elf School on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. with "special guest" Buddy the Elf!
Children in grades pre-kindergarten to sixth grade will learn how to properly trim a Christmas tree, wrap gifts, silently stuff stockings, sing carols and play reindeer games.
Registration is requested for this program and children are encouraged to wear festive clothing. Parent accompaniment is also requested for children ages 3-5.
For more information, visit the library or call 419-358-5016.
