Public Library programs ready in anticipation of The Hunger Games release
Bluffton Public Library is hosting two exciting teen programs to celebrate the release of the new film "The Hunger Games," based on Suzanne Collin's best-selling trilogy.
First, the library's lower level will be transformed into the "Capitol Day Spa" on Tuesday, March 20, at 3:30 p.m., where teens can get pampered by local make-up and nail artists.
Teens should wear their best "Hunger Games" inspired Capitol fashion outfit - the bolder, the better - and come get a mini-makeover for the "Tribute Parade."
Each attendant will also receive a goody bag from program sponsor, Sephora of the Lima Mall. Registration is required for this 'exclusive spa' event. Please contact the library to hold your spot. Any adults wishing to volunteer their services may also contact the library.
Next, Reaping Day will be Thursday, March 22, at 3:30 p.m. The library's "Training Center" will prepare tributes (teens) for the "Hunger Games" by practicing necessary survival and battle skills.
Tributes will also enjoy Capitol grade refreshments and a trivia challenge. Gifts will be showered on the winning tribute's district, including tickets to see the new movie at the Shannon Theatre.
Those between the ages of 12 and 18 are most eligible for reaping, but "Hunger Games" fans of all ages may attend. Please help us stamp out hunger by bringing one non-perishable food item as tesserae (admission). Items will be donated to the Bluffton Food Pantry.
Adults wishing to volunteer their help and expertise during this program may contact the library.
For further information, please contact youth services coordinator Rikki Unterbrink by phone at 419-358-5016 or by e-mail at [email protected]. May the odds be ever in your favor!
