Indiana scholar discusses Whitman's America Feb. 16

Scott Holland, professor of theology and culture and director of peace studies at Bethany Theological Seminary located in Richmond, Ind., will present Entering Whitman's America: A Theopoetics of Public Life at Bluffton University's Forum Series at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, in Founders Hall. Forum is free and open to the public.

Holland's background includes directing both peace studies and cross cultural studies programs as well as teaching graduate courses in public theology, comparative theology, and seminars in ecumenical and interfaith approaches to peacemaking and conflict transformation.

Holland writes and lectures widely in the areas of public theology, peace studies and Christianity and culture. He is a contributing editor to CrossCurrent: The Journal of the Association for Religion and Intellectual Life, and author of several books including Seeking Cultures of Peace: A Peace Church Conversation.
