Two Mennofolk bands return from Columbus to perform at Bluffton’s Town Hall Concert Series, 1t 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13. The performance is on the third floor.
Lost Orchards
Ron Freeman met Savannah at an open mic three years ago. Then he convinced her to sing with him and marry him. In that order. Together they play sporadically in and around their home base of Columbus.
With nearly 70% of their songs mentioning freight trains, their music is an inspired mix of nostalgic Americana and modern independent songwriters.
“Mr. Freeman’s band just released a four song recording titled “Assassins” where each song is a love song from the perspective of a presidential assassin. The music has some resemblance to that of Bill Mallonee of ‘Vigilantes of Love‘ fame. Americana-country-folk vibe used to gentle effect in well paced quietly unfolding tales of longing and heartache. Nice discovery; and now I feel I need to listen to all of this artist’s back-catalog.

Neil Leonard
A student at The Ohio State University, Neil is a classically trained violinist and a self-trained singer/songwriter. Currently he writes music and leads worship at Veritas Community Church in downtown Columbus, while playing gigs on the side in between Engineering classes.
The concert is open to the public. Donations are accepted.
