MS Support Group hears Dr. Goldstick on Oct. 24
A meeting for those with Multiple Sclerosis, their partners and caregivers will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, at The Centre at Bluffton, 601 N. Main St.
Reservations are needed for the dinner and may still be made the day of the program by calling 1-877-219-0410 and giving the program number 2387. The event starts with
registration at 6 p.m
Questcor Pharmaceuticals is the sponsor and provides the speaker. The topic is "Take Control of Your MS Relapses: Know Your Treatment Options."
Lawrence P. Goldstick, M.D., a neurologist at Neurology Specialists, Inc. and co-director of the Center for Multiple Sclerosis Research and Treatment in Dayton, will be the guest speaker.
Among Dr. Goldstick's studies are comparing the efficacy and safety of Betaseron, injected every other day, with Avonex, injected once weekly for treating relapsing-remitting Multiple Sclerosis.
Dr. Goldstick earned his medical degree at Michigan State University, completed his residency in neurology at the University of Cincinnati. He completed a fellowship in EEG, epilepsy, evoked potentials and clinical neurophysiology at the Cleveland Clinic.
This is the second special meeting for those in the area with MS. The Bluffton support group meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Bluffton town hall. Meetings are open to all those in the area, including Putnam County, Hardin County and Allen County.
