Music faculty to address arts at Interlochen

Drs. Lucia Unrau and Peter Terry, members of the Bluffton University music faculty, will discuss their summer work at the Interlochen (Mich.) Center for the Arts in a campus colloquium at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall.
Titled “If You Listen, You Can Hear Them Coming: Making Art at Interlochen,” their talk is free and open to the public.

They have spent 23 summers at Interlochen, which Unrau describes as “an amazing community of artists, where the arts are valued and the creative energy is unmatched.” She is keyboard area coordinator at the center’s arts camp, overseeing 26 faculty and eight teaching assistants who instruct nearly 200 students ages 8-18. At Bluffton, she is a professor and chair of the music department and the communication and fine arts division. Her husband is an associate professor of information technology and music who teaches electronic music at Interlochen.
