Robert L. Weyer was a World War II veteran
Robert L. Weyer, 86, died at 8:05 p.m. Oct. 7, 2014, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
He was born May 11, 1928, in Vaughnsville to the late Lewis and Bessie (Briggs) Weyer. On April 22, 1950, he married Catherine Bowsher Weyer and she survives.
He had worked as a carpenter at Reichenbach Lumber, Bluffton, Triplett Corp., Bluffton, American Electric Power, for the AC & Y Railroad and Fett Hardware.
After retirement, he mowed grass at Maple Grove Cemetery in Bluffton for many years. . He was a member of the American Legion Post #382, Bluffton and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors also include a five children Debra (Craig) Main of Bluffton, Ricky L. Weyer of Bluffton, Kevin L. (Catherine) Weyer of Bluffton, Kathleen Deringer of Marysville, Robert B. Weyer of Ada; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren.
Ht was preceded in death by a brother Jack Weyer; sister Shirley Kohli; and a son in law Dan Deringer.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Michael Downey officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery following the service where military rites will be performed.
Visitation will be from 2 -4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com
