Letter: Your invitation to help sponsor the Blaze of Lights

Icon viewers:

On Saturday, Nov. 29, Bluffton hosts its 28th annual Blaze of Lights. It’s a great Bluffton tradition.

•  THIS YEAR!
• Our popular ice sculptuter returns. He’ll carve some ice at 4 p.m. on Main Street. Joining the iceman is John Guagenti, who will carve a holiday figure from wood.

• Our parade should be our largest ever! We anticipate 100 parade units. That translates to a 60-minute parade.

• From 6 to 7 p.m., we have new entertainment groups to perform following the parade.

• Our horse and wagon route will travel up and down South Main Street as riders enjoy the residential lights of Bluffton.

• A kiddie’s railroad ride returns from last year. It will offer rides for youth following the parade.

ALSO THIS YEAR:
• Christmas light spectacular – a 10,000-light display “The Gift of Giving – A Christmas Light Spectacular,” on College Avenue across from Harmon Field is now in its sixth season. Last year it attracted an estimated 5,000 visitors to Bluffton.

• An updated map of Bluffton for out-of-town visitors, showing where to find house displays.

• 5 p.m. parade downtown, entertainment and food vendors downtown.

• Ream’s lights go on at 7 p.m.

The Blaze of Lights is a Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored event. It takes lots of volunteers and financial support to showcase Bluffton to the larger northwestern Ohio communities.

We invite individuals, organizations and businesses to join us in this effort to promote Bluffton.

Please consider our invitation to you to becoming a financial sponsor of this year’s Blaze. Any amount is appreciated. A sponsorship form is attached. Please contact [email protected] for more information.

Thank you,
