Rick Skilliter will receive state EMT award May 19
Bluffton police chief Rick Skilliter will be recognized on May 19 in Columbus as the state's EMT-Intermediate of the Year.
The award will be presented during the Ohio EMS Awards ceremony, which is combined with Ohio Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physician's (Ohio ACEP) EMS Star of Life Awards ceremony.
The ceremonies will be held at 9:30 a.m. on May 19, in the ODOT Auditorium at the Ohio Department of Public Safety / Ohio Department of Transportation complex, 1980 W. Broad St., Columbus,
According to the news release: "The Ohio EMS Awards recognize outstanding career achievements and honor those in Ohio's EMS system whose accomplishments rise above the day-to-day excellence of the system. They are a tribute to those individuals and organizations whose overall contributions go beyond their basic duties and responsibilities and who represent the finest traditions of our profession."
Skilliter is one of four individuals and one department to be recognized. In addition, seven EMS departments will be recognized with Ohio's ACEP's EMS Start of Life Awards.
