Council, township have Nov. 3 election races
Bluffton voters have decisions to make on Tuesday, Nov. 3. As the day of the general election, here's what's on the various local ballots.
Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Bluffton council
(4 will be elected - 5 are running)
oDavid R. Steiner
oH. Dean French
oMitchell Kingsley
oRichard McGarrity
oEric W. Fulcomer
Richland Township
(village of Bluffton voters and Richland Township voters will cast ballots)
(2 will be elected - 3 are running)
oRod Goldsberry
oGary Lugibihl
oTony Carmack
Bluffton school board
(3 candidates for 3 seats)
oDaniel Rumer
oBrad Fruchey
oKay Miller
County tax referendum
All Allen County voters will decide the fate of a referendum repealing a one-half percent sales tax increase. The increase was enacted by the Allen County Commissioners on June 24, 2009.
The referendum asks that the tax be repealed. Therefore, a YES VOTE is a vote to repeal the tax. A NO VOTE is a vote to keep the tax in place.
In county races with candidates running unopposed are:
oCity of Lima Municipal Court Judge, William G. Lauber
oClerk of Municipal Court, Ben Diepenbrock
Three proposed Ohio constitutional amendments are also on the ballot.
oIssue 1 provides bonds to compensation to veterans of the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts.
oIssue 2 creates the Ohio livestock care standards board.
o Issue 3 allows for one casino each in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo and distributes to all Ohio counties a tax on the casinos.
