Marcine Geiger taught private piano lessons for over 40 years
Marcine Mae Geiger, 81, died Dec. 21, 2015, at 9:25 p.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Marcine was born Feb. 27, 1934, in Allen County, Ohio, to Walter and Louella (Augsburger) Welty who preceded him in death. On Feb. 24, 1953, she married Weldon Geiger who survives.
Marcine held a certification as a MTNA through the Ohio Music Teachers Association. She taught private piano lessons in her home for over 40 years.
She was a lifetime member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton of which she became a member at 13 years of age. She also played piano for many years and assisted in playing the organ at the church. Marcine was also a member of OMTA. She was a graduate of Beaverdam High School.
Survivors also include three children, Keith (Terry) Geiger of Ottoville, Ohio, Rodney Lee (Linda) Geiger of Lima, Teresa (Jonathan) Schutz of Columbus Grove; five grandchildren Donavin Geiger, Megan Jones, Angela Geiger-Fields, Kayla Welch, Miranda Schutz; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Sarah (Tom) Moneer of Lima; and a niece, Evonne (Mike) Taylor of Lima.
Services will be held Wednesday Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Pastors Jim King and Dick Potter officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 29, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice or the Digital Keyboard Fund at Ebenezer Mennonite Church.
