English Lutheran dedicates new addition on Sunday
The congregation of English Lutheran Church invites the community to an open house buffet for the new addition to its facility, said Rev. Kevin Mohr, pastor.
The open house is from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, June 12, at the church 111 Grove St., Bluffton.
Begun in September of 2015, the just-over 5,000 square foot addition includes a fellowship hall with seating for over 150, a serving kitchen, two classrooms, two ADA restrooms, a lounge/reception area, and an accessible drive-up entry-way from our new parking lot.
Main contractors and overseers of the project have been members of the congregation: Robert Neff, architect, Rachel Crawford, interior design, and Robert Fett, general contractor, all of Bluffton. Much of the detail and finishing work has been done by members of English Lutheran, as well.
"The second phase of the building plan involves renovating and flipping the orientation of our current sanctuary by 180 degrees, with two new entrances from the addition, one ramped, into the renovated sanctuary," said Rev. Mohr.
That work will begin soon.
A dedication ceremony of blessing for the new addition will also take place on June 12 during the regular worship time at 9 a.m. Guests are welcome to join us for worship.
