Streetscape ribbon cutting Nov. 28
The Bluffton streetscape program will have its official ribbon cutting on the Blaze of Lights afternoon, according to Fred Rodabaugh, Bluffton mayor.
The longest ribbon in Bluffton ribbon-cutting history will stretch across Main Street in front of the town hall prior to the start of the Blaze parade. The ribbon cutting will take place is a brief ceremony at approximately 4:55 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28.
The invitation list is still in the works for the event. As the ribbon is cut, the 2009 Blaze parade will immediately progress south through the Main Street business district.
The streetscape program is nearly completed. Street lights on the south side of Main Street were being install this week.
Rodabaugh said that the red blinking stop lights should soon go to the expected, green, yellow, red cycle soon. The lights are still being tested and are blinking red as a reminder to motorists of the work still underway on the street.
A complete schedule of Blaze of Lights events may be found on the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce website at: www.explorebluffton.com.
