Women's Soccer drops 6-1 decision at OWU

DELAWARE, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team fell behind 5-1 at the break as Ohio Wesleyan posted a 6-1 victory over the Beavers on a cold Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017. Bluffton fell to 0-3, while OWU improved to 2-0-1.
Freshman Taylor Steinke (Findlay) knocked in a rebound midway through the first stanza, making it 3-1 at the 23:52 mark, but the home team answered with two more first half tallies for a commanding 4-goal spread at the break.
The shots were fast and furious with OWU putting up 35 attempts to 20 for the Beavers. Bluffton forced two more corner kicks (6-4) while Ohio Wesleyan was whistled for 10 more fouls (14-4).
Skylar Liming (St. Marys/Memorial) paced the offense with six shots, while freshman keeper Sienna Sullivan (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) came up with eight saves for the visitors.
Bluffton is back on the road Saturday, Sept. 9, when the Beavers travel to Grace Bible College in Wyoming, Mich. The non-conference tilt is slated for 2 p.m.
