Council committee addresses exits and entrances to SR 103 businesses
How many road cuts – exit and entrances to businesses – on State Route 103 are too many?
Bluffton council’s street and alleys committee grapples with that question this fall. Committee members brought up the subject in the first council meeting in September.
They told the village needs an ordinance to govern access management in certain parts of Bluffton.
The committee’s minutes from Sept. 5, state:
“Road cuts on State Route 103 between Interstate 75 and County Line Road illustrate the unsafe and unplanned accumulation of haphazard entrances on a busy highway.”
During the council discussion it was noted that Jesse Blackburn, village administrator, created a timeline of meetings and events to get the village to the point of adoption of an access management ordinance.
