BHS wrestling: Nassar & Kleman in Semis at Defiance

(DEFIANCE) - Tayton Kleman and Deandre Nassar opened the Defiance Border Wars with three straight wins and will wrestle in their respective class semifinals Saturday. As a team, the Pirates are fourth of 42 teams.
Kleman, wrestling at 106, had a first round bye and then turned in a 10-1 tech fall over Bath's Ezekiel Burkholder in the quarterfinals. In the semis, Kleman earned a 4-1 decision over Allen East's Jordan Kennedy.
Nassar, wrestling for the first time at 182 instead of 195, picked up three pins in a grand total of three minutes, forty-five seconds of action. The senior standout won in 33 seconds, 89 seconds and 103 seconds. In the quarterfinal match, Nassar dealt Central Catholic's Mason Schmoekl his first loss of the year. Nassar is now 14-0 on the season.

Kaden Basil (113) - won first 2 matches by pin before falling in quarterfinal
Jeremy Sturgeon (120) - won first 2 matches before falling in quarterfinal
Josh Mehaffie (138) - won first two matches, one by pin. Lost in quarterfinals
Elijah Conley (145) - Lost opening match and then won two in the Consolation bracket, both by pin
Landen Luginbuhl (220) - Lost opening match and then won two in the Consolation bracket, one by pin
Also competing for Bluffton were Trent Howard, Isaiah Schwab, Jackson Wilson, Jesse Montel, Dustin Mortimer and Elias Mault.
