Water bills moves from cubic feet to gallons
A water meter replacement project is underway this summer in Bluffton.
As customers have new meter installed at their residences they will also see a new format for the monthly village utility bill.
Water meter replacement is underway now and is expected to be completed by August.
Details of the meter replacement project and a look at the new bills were shared at the June 8 Bluffton council meeting.
When the new meter is installed, the customer will receive a note stating that fact. An attachment below this story shows the notice customers will receive and it explains what customers will experience following the meter installation.
The new water bill will appear different for several reasons. The major reason for the change is that new meter reports gallons of water used instead cubic feet (currently used).
A transition bill will show a reading from the old and new meter, showing total water usage.
The village water rates will not change as a result of the new meter installation.
